Anywayz…was having a very interesting conversation with my friend today. Heh. We came to a conclusion that NUS has typically 3 categories of people in terms of academic pursuits.
1) The 'know-it-all': These people really know their stuff. They can go on and on about theories, news, quote and criticize authors and readings like a turbo charged cheetah (ho ho ho) Don’t mess around with these people. They are the real deal. Probably what university academic life should be about. Puts us all to shame doesnt it? Read: Scholars and super muggers.
2) The 'smoker': Not talking about smokers in the literal sense here. Heh. But we really do pollute the system of education. Heh. Crappers unite!!! These people have the innate ability to come up with credible bullshit and make it seem as though they really know things even though they are mainly just fluffing. Like I said. Its an art to be able to bullshit sensibly and churn out decent graded essays. Getting a little personal on this one but what can I say? I am still smoking through NUS. Though I have to mention the occasional failed attempts. But you get my point dun you? My friend deems these people as the lucky bunch cuz we are slackers who always manages to get through stuff. Best of both worlds huh? Read: a certain someone by the name of kossy and many many of her friends *winks*
3) The CMI: Sad cases or the bo 'i dun give a shit about anything' chaps. A very mean category my friend established. I quote: “There must be people like these cuz I am not at the bottom of the lot” Yes yes. These people are really quite pitiful cuz some are likely to be hard workers. Probably mortal enemies with the ‘smokers’ for obvious reasons I so dun have to put in words. Tsk tsk. Read: Really sad cases or the bo 'i dun give a shit about anything' chaps.
