goes by the name of Jean (aka Shasha)

Yeah. Such a pretty dog isn't she?
But naw...she ain't mine.
It was quite a stroke of luck &
perhaps a lil' dose of what you call fate
that she was found at Railway Mall @ Bukit Timah
by a few animal lovers with big big hearts.
The poor lost dear had been crying the whole day
(she was whimpering under a table @ this pub since 2pm!)

But thankfully...she scored herself a snuggly place to spend the night.
And after what seemed like an endless night
of feeding, bathing, coaxing, cuddling, scurrying and a bunch of tricks,
She finally fell asleep exhausted and very much loved.

When Charles Dickens said that time is the manufacturer of all things,
he must have meant time woven specially for us & Jean.
Cuz even though she was only with us for a night,
(yes...her owners called...and they were a really nice bunch!)
we loved her as if she had been ours all her life.

We miss you girl!
And come visit soon yeah?

“I'll publish, right or wrong: Fools are my theme, let satire be my song.”
~Lord Byron~

Chanced upon a random profile on fridae.com just the other day.
And read about a certain Lord Byron.
Was looking for a quote and found the one.
Also by Lord Byron.
So i went ahead to Wiki this enigmatic figure.
And out of curiousity...i found:

George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron (22 Jan 1788 - 19 Apr 1824)
was a British poet
and a leading figure in Romanticism.
He was regarded as one of the greatest European poets and remains widely read.
Lord Byron's fame rests not only in his writings but also in his life,
which featured extravagant living, numerous love affairs, debts,
separation, and allegations of incest and sodomy.
He was famously described by Lady Caroline Lamb
as
"mad, bad, and dangerous to know."

Sounds great!
An extravagant incestuous sodomist, who is also a mad & dangerous poet.
(i like i like!) Hurhur.
Eh Kim...you read this man before?

And since i am afterall in a poetic mood.
Here goes.

Love and Death
by Lord Byron (George Gordon)

1.
I watched thee when the foe was at our side,
Ready to strike at him—or thee and me,
Were safety hopeless—rather than divide
Aught with one loved save love and liberty.

2.
I watched thee on the breakers, when the rock,
Received our prow, and all was storm and fear,
And bade thee cling to me through every shock;
This arm would be thy bark, or breast thy bier.

3.
I watched thee when the fever glazed thine eyes,
Yielding my couch and stretched me on the ground
When overworn with watching, ne’er to rise
From thence if thou an early grave hadst found.

4.
The earthquake came, and rocked the quivering wall,
And men and nature reeled as if with wine.
Whom did I seek around the tottering hall?
For thee. Whose safety first provide for? Thine.

5.
And when convulsive throes denied my breath
The faintest utterance to my fading thought,
To thee—to thee—e’en in the gasp of death
My spirit turned, oh! oftener than it ought.

6.
Thus much and more; and yet thou lov’st me not,
And never wilt! Love dwells not in our will.
Nor can I blame thee, though it be my lot
To strongly, wrongly, vainly love thee still.

Nice.

*glances around the quiet room with only the sounds of Howie Day playing from the laptop*

And you end up feeling like you've reached a stage of stagnation.
Not liking it.
But living with it.

Where are the wings when you need them?
